Mildred Marian Muth

COTTAGE GROVE- Mildred M. Muth, age 99, of Cottage Grove, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Aster Retirement Community. She was born on Oct. 6, 1918, in Plymouth, Wis., the daughter of Raymond and Clara (Troeller) Aderhold. She was united in marriage to Norman Muth. A witty conversationalist by nature, Mildred found great success in sales, and continued this profession until her retirement. She was involved in various organizations such as Four Lakes Yacht club, order of the Eastern Star and an active member of Citizens on Patrol of Volusia County, Fla. Mildred had a taste for adventure, especially with her family. Together, summers were spent sailing and exploring new waters, while winters were embraced by snowmobile tours on peaceful trails. Mildred drew everlasting peace and strength from her faith. She was devout to her Lord, and for many years reflected that love on to the students she taught in Sunday school. Mildred was a leader of love and humility, with patience that never faltered. She will be forever a wonderful mother and guardian to her family.  Mildred is survived by daughter, Sandra (Jerry) Wendland; son, Norman (Judie) Muth; daughter-in-law, Elly Muth; niece, Jill (Jim) Helmke; and nine grandchildren, Sheryl Muth, Scott (Carol) Muth, Steven (Tracy) Muth, Dawn (Curt) Walker, Connie (Steve) Rose, Carrie (Donald) Christian, Jerome (Bonnie) Wendland Jr., Mark Muth and Michele (Steve) Slattery. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman Muth; and son, Raymond Muth. A family funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CAREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr. Madison, at 2 p.m., on Friday, April 20, 2018, with the Rev. Elisa Brandt presiding.
