Obituary
MADISON - Carole A. Mohr, age 76, passed away peacefully as a result of a cardiac event related to diabetes on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, with her loving husband by her side. She was born on Nov. 5, 1945, in Madison, the daughter of Robert and Leona (Kautzer) Forrer.
Carole attended St. James Catholic School and graduated from Edgewood High School in 1963. She continued her studies at Edgewood College and the UW-Whitewater. Carole was united in marriage to Dennis Mohr on July 12, 1969. She worked for the UW Primate Research Lab for many years, then continued at the UW Testing and Evaluation Center, where she assisted students as a test coordinator. She retired in 2001, after 34 years of service with the university.
Carole enjoyed gardening, traveling and being outdoors. She was a true nature lover. Carole loved spending time with her husband and her close friends and family. She enjoyed hosting family get togethers, especially around the holidays. Carole was a care giver and had a special way of connecting with people. She will be remembered for the way she made others feel by the questions she asked with compassion, kindness, straight forward demeanor, positive attitude and her own spirituality. She was the rock of the Forrer family.
Carole is survived by her husband of 53 years, Denny; three sisters, Mary (Dave) Edwards, Molly Sewart-Hubbard and Bonne Rose; three brothers, Pat (Char) Forrer, Bob (Heidi) Forrer and William (Laurie) Forrer; brother-in-law, Gary (Joyce) Mohr; nine nieces and nephews; and 16 great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24, 2022, and also from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
