Obituary
MADISON - Patricia Mary McCormick, age 86, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Oakwood Village Prairie Ridge. She was born on Oct. 27, 1936, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Norbert and Sylvia (Mittelslaedt) Kane. When Patricia was young, her parents divorced, and her mother remarried Carl Kresnik who provided her with a loving home. Patricia graduated from St. Mary’s Hospital School of X-Ray Tech., class of 1956.
Patricia is survived by her children, Penny (John) Scott, Pam (Henry) Geib, Robert McCormick, William McCormick, Andrew (Cyndi) McCormick, and Timothy (Amy) McCormick; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and stepfather, Carl.
Patricia loved her many years living on Lake Monona and the countless boat rides on the Madison lakes. She enjoyed her time swimming at the East Madison YMCA and the many friends she made there. Most of all, Patricia was a proud mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
It would be wrong to say that Patricia lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. There was no quit in Patricia. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly looks like.
A memorial service will be held at OAKWOOD VILLAGE PRAIRIE RIDGE, Tree of Life Chapel, 5565 Tancho Drive, Madison, at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2023. Visitation will be held on Thursday at Oakwood Village from 3:45 p.m. until the time of the service.
