Galen J. Malisch

NORTH FREEDOM - Galen J. Malisch, age 73, of North Freedom, passed away on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on May 5, 1949, in Phillips, Wis., the son of Lilliana (Johnson) Malisch.

Galen graduated from Pardeeville High School in 1968. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Ford on May 3, 1969 in Pardeeville. Galen worked as a manager for UW-Madison, retiring in 1990.

Galen enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. He loved tinkering with things, taking items apart and put back together and he was always working on a project.

Galen is survived by his former wife, Carolyn Ford; daughters, Angela (Chris) Johnson and Pamela (Craig) Perry; and grandsons, Andrew Perry and Martin Perry. He was preceded in death by stepfather, Ernest Malisch; mother, Lilliana Malisch; infant brother, Ray Ellen; and granddaughter, Erika Perry. 

A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, 2023. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. the time of the service on Friday.
