Obituary
STOUGHTON - Cindie L. Maranger, age 58, of Stoughton, passed away on Monday, Jan. 23, 2023, at her home. She was born on Oct. 18, 1964, in Racine, Wisconsin, the daughter of Herman and Louise (Roberts) Maranger.
Cindie graduated from high school in Tampa, Florida and later moved back to Stoughton, Wisconsin with family. In 1989, she moved to Madison, Wisconsin, into her first of many apartments. In the early 1990’s, Cindie volunteered at St. Mary’s Care Center spending time chatting and providing companionship to elderly residents which she greatly enjoyed. Cindie was especially proud of her clerical position at Community Living Connections where she worked for 25 years!
Cindie loved animals and especially cats! She had an amazing memory for names and dates and she loved to tease and joke with her friends. Cindie would have fun going out to eat and she was especially fond of her Diet Mountain Dew and coffee. Cindie experienced a number of challenges throughout her lifetime but she always persevered with laughter and love for her friends and family. Cindie was a strong individual who wasn’t afraid to be stubborn in her independence! When asked, “What are we going to do with you Cindie?” she would respond by stating, “Keep me and love me.” Relationships and a sense of community were the most important things in Cindie’s life and she always had time for the people she cared about. Cindie will be deeply missed by her lifelong friends at Community Living Connections and her best friend, Gayle Walkowiak, who was there for her through thick and thin. To all of you who loved Cindie… please remember that life is short, eat dessert first!
Cindie is survived by her sister, Linda Reeve; friend, Gayle Walkowiak; nephew, Jared Reeve; and two nieces, Debbie Maranger-Menk and Darcy Maranger-Mohr. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Robert Maranger and George Maranger.
A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, 2023.
