MADISON/OREGON-Linda (Weidemann) Martinson, age 70, passed away at Oregon Manor on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, surrounded by her family after a nearly 20 year-long battle with Parkinson's disease. Linda was born on Sept. 26, 1946, in Madison, the daughter of Oscar and Vivian (Guethlein) Weidemann. Upon graduating from Sauk Prairie High School in 1964, she went on to earn her nursing degree from MATC in 1965, and practiced until 1970. Linda was married to Ric Hoerz from 1968-1975, during which time she had two children and discovered her life's calling, childcare. In 1982, Linda met and married her husband of 34 years, Tim Martinson. She spent ten years working for Kinderhaven Daycare before starting her own business in 1986, L.A.M.'s Daycare. After discovering symptoms of Parkinson's in 1998, Linda gave up her business but did not give up on following the lives and stories of the many children for whom she cared. Linda loved children, pets and above all, dancing. Linda is survived by her husband, Tim; daughter, Angela (Jason) Hodsdon and their son, Jeromey; son, David (Karen Wagner) Hoerz; step-children, Melissa and Tory Martinson; Tory's son, Trent; and her cat, Buttercup. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Lloyd Weidemann. Funeral services will be held at MESSIAH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5202 Cottage Grove Rd., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017, with the Rev. Jeff Vanden Heuvel presiding.
