Merlyn Francis Lucas

My condolence to Merl's family. I worked with Merl at CUNA Credit Union back in 1969 -1974. He was my first boss and taught me many things. He scared me at first but I grew to love his rough and tough character. My husband and I became long time friends with him and Phyllis and enjoyed many cocktail hours and dinners with them. We now live in Arizona and will not be able to attend the service but please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. I have many fond memories to last me forever. Donna and Pat Schindler

I wrote the following to my children, dear friends of Merl & Phyllis: "Merl and Phyllis were quite the wonderful, fascinating and loving,couple. They always showed great love and kindness toward you, my children,...and you, for them. For that, and who they were as human beings, I loved them both. And it is somehow right and proper that they are together again just in time for Christmas. I'm sure Phyllis is writing a heavenly poem as I type...and Merl is puffing on his pipe, happy to be done with his life's work and happy to see his beloved Muse, Phyllis, still doing what she loves the most. And both, resting in peace."
