Loved Sara. Haven't seen her in years but was born across the street from her family. We also went to church together at CHUMC. I can't imagine how beautiful today was for her to spend her first Sunday with Jesus. Praying for peace for all of you. I truly know how hard goodbyes are to your Mom, but what an amazing Sunday it will be when you are re united. Thinking of all the family.

Sara was such a special person to me. I met her at Bay View UMC during a contemplative and dark period of my life. I was feeling tremendous loss after my mom died suddenly. I joined a book group at church with my dad, of which Sara also was a member of the group. We took to her right away due to her realness and outgoing personality. She became a friend. She reintroduced me to the joy found in playing games. I shared a cabin at Lake Lucerne winter camp with Sara and so enjoyed playing games with her. I treasure the conversations, meals and game nights we shared during the past eight years. My condolences to her family.

I lived with my mom in college while Sara was her roommate. She was a very wise, empathetic, and positive person. I know she touched a lot of people throughout her life, both near and far. I hope she's found some peace, serenity, and tranquility. I'm sure her Siamese Cat has found her, and they are relaxing together in a comfy recliner. Who knows, maybe she'll come back as a cat someday to check on her family and friends.

I made the decision to look for a roommate and I got so lucky when I found Sarah Lewin. We where rommies for 7 years. Her life was not easy but she never complained. She was very smart and strong and I relied on her for advise so often. I was so blessed to have known this great Lady. Rest in peace my friend you deserve it. Until we meet again.

Sara and I became friends when my family moved to Montgomery when we both were about 4 yrs old. We met at CHUMC. For the next 65 years we remained very dear friends even though she moved to Wisconsin and I stayed in Alabama. I was greatly blessed when I visited her for the last time on earth in July. She kept living and smiling until her last breath. Such a strong Christian woman with a remarkable sense of humor! Praise God for her life.

I met Sara at a Cottage Grove Book discussion. We were both new to town and as our friendship developed we discovered that we had much in common - love of family, Christian faith, movies, books, and that we went to the same church but different services. I enjoyed being a facebook friend with her as I live in Madison only part time. Amanda and Matthew - your mother loved you so much. My deepest sympathy.
