Obituary

DEFOREST - Margaret M. Lindsay, age 96, of DeForest, passed away on November 29, 2025, at The Legacy of DeForest. She was born on May 29, 1929, in Carrollville, Wis., the daughter of Paul and Christina (Micech) Kasak.


Margaret graduated from South Milwaukee High School, Class of 1947. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Marquette in 1951 and Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from UW-Madison in 1970. She married Robert Lindsay on September 15, 1951, in Oak Creek, Wis., and they were blessed with four children.


Marge worked for Verona Area Public Schools as an elementary school teacher for 20 years.  She was a Saint Maria Goretti parish charter member for 31 years. She sang in the Diocesan Choir of Madison for 10 years and enjoyed volunteering with Scouting.  

 

Marge loved to travel with her husband, including trips to Czechoslovakia, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Ireland, Wales, Norway, Sweden, and most of the United States. She especially liked watching the Badgers, Packers and Brewers and traveled to Badgers Bowl games. She enjoyed gardening and especially loved flowers. Marge had fun organizing her group to play hand bells and was the bell and chimes director. She liked to scrapbook, color and do other crafts. She enjoyed reading and doing puzzles. She was fond of her bird feeder and was happy watching all the birds. Marge loved to sit outside in the sun and visit with her family and friends. She delighted in getting her hair and nails done.


Margaret is survived by her four children, Len (Maria), Tom (Julie), Paul (Elissa) and Cathy (Tom); 10 grandchildren, Rhianon, Adrienne, Sarah, Michelle, Kyle, James, John, Caitlin, Kelsi and Haley; two great-grandchildren, Sol and Veronica; and sister, Aggie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, Paul and Christina; and sisters, Ronnie and Sophie.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at SACRED HEARTS OF JESUS AND MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 221 Columbus St., Sun Prairie, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025, with a luncheon to follow. A visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Thursday.
