Obituary

MADISON - Frances Faye Lerdahl, age 90, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on Feb. 19, 1933, in Headwaters, Va., the daughter of Lloyd and Ressie (Puffenbarger) Botkin.


Frances graduated from Aurora High School in Virginia in 1951. She married Robert Lerdahl on Jan. 14, 1953, in North Carolina. She worked as a driver for Hertz Rental Car.


Frances was a loving wife to her devoted husband, Bob, and she loved her children and grandchildren very much. She enjoyed playing cards, snowmobiling, camping in their camper, and cooking and baking.

 

Frances is survived by her son, Don (Mary) Lerdahl; daughter, Deborah (Doug) Cummings; grandchildren, Blake Lerdahl and Amber Lerdahl; and her second daughter, Kathy “Katie” Elmore Freye. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Ressie; husband, Robert; sisters, Myrtle Washington, Kitty Coffey and Janet Nance; and brothers, Stanley, Darhl, Lee and Vernon Botkin.


A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 29, 2023, with pastor Paul Johnsen presiding. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.

My dear Aunt Frances, may your soul rest in peace, you will be missed especially by your family. You are now with your Mom and dad and brothers and sisters, which we all miss dearly, you were the last to go, but hey your not the last memory of us!
