Obituary

MADISON - Rose Mary Lawler, age 93, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Heritage Monona. She was born on March 19, 1931, in Darlington, the daughter of Edward and Geneva (Schwartz) Goebel.


Rose graduated from Darlington High School in 1949. She married Donald Lawler on August 1, 1953. She worked as a processor for Humiston Keeling and was a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church.


Rose and Don enjoyed traveling and visited 40 states, including Hawaii, and seven countries in Europe.


Rose is survived by her son, Dale Lawler of Madison; sister, Eleanor (Vernon) Gille of Gratiot; son-in-law, Harley Hendrix of Middleton; grandsons, Jesse (Becca) Hendrix and Chase Hendrix; great-granddaughter, Maria Hendrix; great-grandsons, Talan Hendrix, Jaxan Hendrix, and Carlo Hendrix; as well as many nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, in 2013; parents, Edward and Geneva; brothers and sisters; and daughter, Verlene Hendrix, in 2006.


Private services will be held. A special thank you to the staff at Agrace HospiceCare for the wonderful care they gave to Rose during her illness.
