Everyone who reads this should know what a wonderful Great-Grandmother she was. I was one of very few people in this world who were lucky enough to grow up with a Great-Grandmother and I was always proud of that (and bragged about it). She never forgot a Birthday or a Christmas and with the sheer number of kids, Grandkids, and other Great-Grandkids, no one would blame her for forgetting or just not sending anything. But every year there was a card on my Birthday and a gift and card under the tree at Christmas. Those gestures meant more to me than I could ever express to her. How she remembered things about each of us, I'll never know. I still, at 33, forget the names of my extended Family members, much less remember small details of each of their lives. I know her life was not always easy and I cannot imagine the hardships she faced but I never saw life get her down. Although she was more of a reserved person, she always was up for my goofy personality and a hug and that always made me feel loved. I am grateful to have had her in my life for not only my childhood but my early years as an adult. She was someone in my life that I always valued and looked up to. I will forever be in awe of her strength, courage, kindness and commitment to those she loved. I am honored that she was my Great-Grandmother. She will never be forgotten in our Family and in our hearts. I hope she is at peace now. To Great-Grandma, Thank you for sharing part of your life with me and for always making me feel special. In the sea of faces, I'm not sure how you managed it but you did. I will miss your Birthday cards and your hugs. I am so lucky that I got to have you in my life and I will forever be proud that I am descended from you. You really lived an admirable life and if I live mine half as well as you did yours, I'll feel extremely lucky. I love you Great-Grandma! Steph Poster (Selsor) (Lois' Granddaughter & Jodi's Daughter)

It was a pleasure to get know Irene over the last couple of years. She was a great table mate for my mother Deltah. I never heard Irene say anything negative. She was as sharp as could be enjoying life as best she could right up until the end. Karen, my mom, and I will greatly miss her at Prairie Gardens.

I will always remember my visits to the Legler farm as a friend of Marions. Irene was the first person to ever serve me applesauce on pancakes and to this day that is how I eat pancakes. She was always very kind when I visited the farm. I will always remember she and Harland dancing up a storm at the local dance halls. They were always fun to watch. Now they can dance together again.
