Obituary
MADISON-Carolyn J. Landen (nee Singstock) passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 24, 2018, in Cross Plains, with her family by her side. She was born on May 20, 1922, in Colby, the youngest daughter of five, to Herman and Lena Singstock. Carolyn was united in marriage to Reuben Landen on Oct. 31, 1958. She moved to Madison in the mid 1950's and was employed by Oscar Mayer until 1965. Carol had been an active member of Lake Edge Lutheran Church since 1958. She always had a kind word, a smile and a hug for everyone. She was known for her love of gardening, baking and especially for her kindness and generosity to all. Carol loved her family, but most of all cherished her grandchildren. Carol is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Duane) Beczkiewicz; and grandchildren, Jeffrey, Steven and Amy, who will miss her dearly. She is also survived by Reuben's children, Jo (Larry) Christianson, Patricia (Rick) Penzkover; and many step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben; daughter, Phyllis Dahl; parents, Harold and Lena Singstock; and brothers, Arnold, Oscar, Harold and Melbert. Funeral Services will be held at LAKE EDGE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4032 Monona Dr., Madison, at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, with the Rev. Katya Ouchakof presiding. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church from noon until time of services on Tuesday. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary's Adult Day Care, Girlie's Manor and Agrace HospiceCare for the patient, kind and compassionate care she was given during her journey through Alzheimer's disease. She will be in our memories and in our hearts forever. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
