FiITCHBURG - Paul Leo Lacy's tractor has run out of gas. Paul, age 99, an area farmer, passed away on June 13, 2024, at The Legacy at Noel Manor in Verona, Wis. Paul was born in Fitchburg, Wis., on May 24, 1925, to Leo and Alma (Batker) Lacy. Paul lived most of his life in the same house he was born in and farmed until the age of 90. He was a former member of the quartet Men of Note as well as the Madison Diocesan Choir, and traveled extensively with them.
He married the former Milda Richardson on Feb. 16, 1952, at St. Raphael Cathedral in Madison. They were blessed with eight daughters.
He will remain in the hearts of all who loved him, including his wife, Milda; six daughters, Melissa Lacy-Cliff, Lora (Bruce) Waddell, Teresa (Conrad) Peterson, Diane (Larry) Schmid, Joan (Ken) Kleinheinz and Jeri (Pat) Breen; son-in-law, Robert Peterson; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and three siblings, Howard (Carolyn) Lacy, Ellen Palzkill and John (Maureen Richards) Lacy.
He was predeceased by his daughters, Louise Peterson and Linda Duren; sons-in-law, Timothy Duren and Donald Cliff; brother and sister-in-law, Philip and Winifred Lacy; and brother-in-law, Richard Palzkill.
A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Madison next to his parents and grandparents.
Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
