Donald Richard Klemstine

MADISON - Donald Richard Klemstine, age 96, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Oakwood Seasons Assisted Living Facility. He was born on February 27, 1929, in Madison, the son of Robert Klemstine and Jenny (Hoiby) Klemstine.

Donald graduated from Madison East High School. He was united in marriage to Verna LaFlash and they celebrated 40 years of marriage. Donald served in the U.S. Navy for four years during World War II.

Donald worked as a meat cutter for Oscar Mayer in Madison for 44 years, retiring in 1994. Donald valued giving to his community and was an active volunteer at Holy Cross Lutheran Church for many years.

Donald is survived by his sister, Virginia Schara; niece, Dorothy Kay (Richard) Mattie; and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Helen Klemstine; parents; sisters, Edith Brown and Betty Terrel; and brothers, Robert Klemstine and Jerry Klemstine.

Private family services will be held.
