SUN PRAIRIE - Catherine (Buck) Johnson, age 87, of Sun Prairie, passed away on Monday, Dec. 19, 2022. She was born on Sept. 28, 1935, in Penfield, Ill., the daughter of James and Mary (Gordon) Buck.
Catherine loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They meant everything to her. She enjoyed volunteering her time at Port St. Vincent’s and quietly provided assistance to others. Catherine loved golf and Tiger Woods was her favorite. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing Bridge and traveling.
Catherine is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Bryan Ward) Rathbun; four sons, J. C. Johnson, Alan Scott (Julie) Johnson, Roger Johnson and Chuck Johnson; 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and two brothers and three sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter-in-law, Chris Johnson (Chuck’s wife); and two brothers and three sisters.
A private memorial service will be held at Gunderson East Funeral and Cremation Care, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison.
