Obituary

MADISON/ASHLAND-Marian A. Johnson, age 88, of Madison, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Tender Reflections. She was born on Jan. 14, 1930, in Ashland County, Wis., the daughter of John and Josephine (Vaillancourt) Stolarzyk.  Marian attended school in Mason.  She married Walter Johnson on July 29, 1949.  Marian was an at-home daycare provider for many years for many kids who still called her "mom".  She retired from Swiss Colony after working for over 20 years.  Marian was a charter member of St. Dennis Catholic Church and volunteered many hours at their festivals.  She was an avid seamstress known for her pot holders and baby quilts, and a fan of the Brewers.  Marian is survived by her daughters, Annette Nichols, Barb Johnson and Mary Bach; six grandchildren, Stacy (Tim) Pahman, Jeremy Nichols, Jason Nichols, Joshua (Jamie) Nichols, Megan (Brian) TerMaat and Chris Bach; seven great-grandchildren; sister Helen Gregoire; brothers, John (Joyce) Stolarczyk, Walter (Theresa) Stolarzyk, George (Jean) Stolarzyk, Andrew (Carol) Stolarzyk, James (Cindy) Stolarzyk and Tom Stolarczyk; sisters-in-law, Charlette Schultz and Carol Dixon; brothers-in-law, Donavon (Sharon) Johnson and Roger (Judy) Johnson; and many other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter, of 66 years; brother, Wilfred Stolarzyk; and sister, Anna Miller.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, with Father Randy Timmerman presiding. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m.  Another visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to St. Dennis Parish or Dane County Humane Society. What an amazing woman your Mom was Annette. She was always there for her family and a "giver" and it's so evident she passed this down to you and then you passed it down to your wonderful kids. I am lucky to have known her through your family. My deepest sympathies...
