Diane M. Jamieson

MADISON - Diane M. Jamieson, age 80, of Madison, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023. She was born on Sept. 22, 1942, in Stambaugh, Mich., the daughter of Ale Stapleton and Ethel (Minton) Spencer.

Diane graduated from Crandon High School in 1960. After high school she worked at Educators Progress Services in Randolph where she met her husband, William “Bill” Jamieson.  They were married on May 21, 1966, in Milwaukee. While she stayed home to raise her family, she worked part-time at JC Penney, where she spent her paychecks. When her daughters got older, she worked at WPS Insurance. After retirement, she went back to working part-time at Sears.

Diane enjoyed bowling and being part of a card club with the ladies for over 50 years. After her retirement, she joined Curves and enjoyed the company of the friends she made there for several years. Diane and her cousins/sisters, Maxine, Marlena, Joey and Bonnie loved travelling the world together.

Diane is survived by her daughters, Brenda Lang and Sheri Jamieson; sister, Linda (Randy) Scharfenberger; brother, Allan (Dawn) Spencer; grandson, Spencer Lang; sisters-in-law, Kathy Spencer and Sheelah Jamieson; nieces, Regen (Donald) Milani, Kate Jamieson, Beth Ann Spencer, and Dawn Spencer; and friends, Barb (Dwayne) Figy, Janice (Steve Rudell) Dolloff and Catherine Leaf. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Jamieson; mother, Ethel Spencer; fathers, Ale Stapleton and Zack Spencer; aunts, Elsie Netherly and Millie Schwartz; brother-in-law, John "Jack" Jamieson; mother-in-law, Genevieve Jamieson; father-in-law, Eldon "Red" Jamieson; and uncle, Roy (Marie) Goplen.

Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.  Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
