Patricia A. Hemsdorf

MCFARLAND-Patricia A. Hermsdorf, age 82, of McFarland, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017. She was born on Aug. 26, 1934, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Leonard and Delia (Trainor-Beck) Moe. Patricia met the love of her life, Harvey Hermsdorf on a blind date. They married on Sept. 8, 1951, at Hope Lutheran Church. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last year. Patricia worked in various capacities from Manchester's to working in the dental field in oral surgery. She taught Sunday school for many years at Hope Lutheran Church. Patricia and Harvey enjoyed life together which included card club, square dancing, babysitting grand-dogs, and neighborhood parties. She always enjoyed a party and family gatherings, especially if they included Bob's fish. Patricia's other favorite hobbies included Rosemaling, collecting Madison Ceramic Arts, ordering from QVC, collecting magazines and knitting, or as grandpa says, "trying to knit." Fourteen years ago, she was a recipient of a liver transplant, which allowed for her to experience life as a great-grandma. Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Harvey Hermsdorf; daughter, Susan (Robert) Ecker; son-in-law, John (Lori) Schlimgen; grandchildren, Arick (Brooke) Ecker, Jessica Ecker and Heidi (Mike) Nitz; great-grandchildren, Maegan Nitz, Alexander Nitz, Amanda Schlimgen, Katelyn Schlimgen, Jacob Ecker, Lucas Ecker and Ella Ecker; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her birth father, Leslie Beck; daughter, Cynthia Schlimgen; and brothers-in-law, Richard Koch, Gordon Hermsdorf and Fred Hermsdorf. Funeral services will be held at HOPE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3702 County Hwy AB, McFarland, at 11 a.m., on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017. Burial will be held at Hope Cottage Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. Memorials may be made to Hope Cemetery and Agrace HospiceCare Inc. 5395 E.
