Obituary
MADISON - Brian J. Gehring, age 52, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024, at Agrace HospiceCare after a year-long battle with cancer. He was born on Jan. 12, 1972, in Jamestown, N.Y., the son of Kenneth and Mary Gehring.
Brian graduated from Sun Prairie High School and attended National Louis University. He worked as a team member at Target for about 20 years. In his free time, he loved participating in church activities, singing karaoke, volunteering at the PBS Pledge Drive and Quilt Show, and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was an active member of James Reeb Universal Unitarian Church.
Brian is survived by his parents, Ken and Mary Gehring; brothers, Mark (Cheryl) Gehring and Mike Gehring; sister, Jodie (Peter) Arenz; along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon on Saturday, March 23, 2024, followed by funeral services with the Rev. Bowie Kling-Garcia presiding. The family invites friends and family to a lunch at Gunderson following the service. A private burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens on Monday, March 25, 2024.
