Orpha E. Grossman

DEERFIELD-Orpha Ethel (Collins) Grossman, age 90, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Oak Park Place in Madison. She was born on March 29, 1927, in Augusta, Wis., the daughter of Ernest and Elizabeth (Britton) Collins. She married Maynard Grossman on June 16, 1945, and they farmed in the Deerfield area. Orpha worked for Hamlin Inc., and cleaned at the Bank of Deerfield and also for other private individuals. Her greatest job of all was being a mother, grandmother and friend to many. Outside of work, she enjoyed embroidery, making quilts, flowers, polka dancing and Packer and Badger football. Orpha is survived by her children, Ethel Lund (Mike Adler) and Ralph Grossman both of Deerfield; grandchildren, Stewart Copus, Scott Copus, Jennifer (Phil) Martinson, Jody Wilke, Sarah Grossman and Barry (Starrlene) Grossman; great-grandchildren, Julie, Nicole, Steven, Dustin, Dylan, Zachary, Barrett and Shelby; great great-grandchildren, Jose, Lilliana, Aiyanna and Karsen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard in 1973; daughter, Eileen Copus in 2008; and eleven siblings, Otis, Wilmer, Paul, Calvin, Ernest, Arthur, Iva, Gladys, Lillian, Alice and Gloria. Funeral Services will be held at ST. PAUL'S LIBERTY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3494 Oak Park Rd., Deerfield, at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017. Visitation will be held at the church from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
