She was always busy hard at work in the restaurant. She was a wonderful person and raised wonderful children. I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I met Alice back in the late 80s while dating one of her lovely daughters. Alice was gracious and kind when we would visit but it was her story that has left an indelible impression on me. It certainly was not an easy journey for Mrs Fike yet she marched on. Truly an impressive human. Rest In Peace ma’am.

I'm glad that grandma adopted our kitty Toby and took care of him in her apartment. She used to always tell us about whatever program she had most recently seen on PBS, and now I'm just like that except it's about the podcast I heard. :) I remember when she loved to stay active and take walks every day. It must have been hard to have so many children. I wonder if she was really up for the job. It must have been hard to lose so many children too, and lose touch with others. I think your wall of photographs was your way of staying connected on some level and feeling proud of your big family. Rest in peace, grandma.
