Obituary

Anna Mae Femrite, age 101, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Oak Park Place. She was born on June 27, 1922, in Stoughton, the daughter of Gilbert and Gurina (Hougen) Gunderson.

Anna was united in marriage to Ray Femrite. She worked in food service at LaFollette High School.

She was also a loyal member of the Red Hatters. Anna still got together once a month for lunch with the working girls from LaFollette.

Anna is survived by her son-in-law, Skip Congdon; her niece, Susan Femrite; special friend, Darren Olson; and dear friends the Rogers family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ray; daughter, Diane Congdon; son, David Femrite; sister, Dorothy Gunderson; and brother, Russell Gunderson.

A memorial service will be held at LAKE EDGE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4032 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, with the Rev. Ann was a long time member of East Side Club and was always a delight to visit with her. She had a small group that played cards weekly at the Club. Sending our sincerest sympathies to the Family

I had the pleasure of meeting Ann during a chair yoga class when she was 95. We all marveled at her ability to do yoga! She became my friend that very day and we enjoyed years of yoga, lunches, outings to fun places in Fort Lauderdale. I will miss her positive outlook and sweet smile.

So sorry to hear of Ann's passing. She was quite the lady. I only knew her for a short time but mom was always talking about he, so I felt I knew her. They (Virginia Gumz) worked together in the kitchen at LaFollette High School. Pat Rolli and I had a nice visit with her at Oak Park. You have my sympathy. Connie Gumz Johnson
