MADISON - Shirley Ann Feit, age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Drumlin Reserve in Cottage Grove, Wis. She was born on March 12, 1943, in Manitowoc, Wis., to Herbert and Evelyn (Fritsch) Stuiber.
Shirley graduated from Valders High School in 1961. She was united in marriage to Melroy Feit on November 15, 1969, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Together, they shared a wonderful marriage filled with laughter, love, and adventure-always finding time to stop and play the slots at a casino along the way.
While her children were young, Shirley was a devoted stay-at-home mom, working part-time evenings. When her kids got older, she began working full-time as an administrative assistant in the maintenance department at Covance. She loved being part of that team and proudly kept the men “in line” especially during their daily card games at lunch.
A longtime member of St. Dennis Catholic Church, Shirley faithfully served as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered with religious education and school programs.
Shirley was sassy, witty, and sweet-always ready with a quick jab and a warm smile. She loved playing cards (and hated losing, especially to Melroy) and cheering on her favorite Wisconsin sports teams-the Badgers, Brewers, and Packers-especially the UW women’s basketball and volleyball teams. She loved spending time with family and friends and never missed a chance to support her kids’, and grandkids’, and Mel’s sporting events, cheering loud from the stands-especially at the refs when they made a questionable call.
Shirley is survived by her children, Melisa (Kevin Campbell) Feit, Scott (Jessica) Feit, Brenda (Zach) Lilla, and Jaclyn (Grant) Sharpee; grandchildren, Nikala and Cole Feit, and Morgan and Riley Sharpee; sister, Delores Heidorf; sisters-in-law, J’Ette Koeppel, Gwen Feit, Germaine Stuiber, and Kathy Woss; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melroy; her parents; brother, Kenny Stuiber; sister, Patricia Zaruba; sister-in-law, Ilene Stuiber; brothers-in-law, Lester Koeppel, Frank Feit and Allen Zaruba; and niece, Barb Koeppel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of Apostles Parish, ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass.
