Robert Wayne Felland

Robert Wayne “Chip” Felland, age 82, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, after a long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born on February 2, 1944, in Portage, WI, to Clayton R. Felland and Frances Claire Price Felland.

Chip grew up in Monona, WI and graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1962 along with proudly earning the rank of Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow. While still in high school, Chip joined the Navy Reserves and, upon graduation, enlisted in the United States Navy, serving honorably until his discharge in 1967.

For more than 40 years, Chip was the owner of Master Hearing Aid Plan, where he built not only a successful business, but lasting relationships with those he served. He was deeply passionate about conservation and the outdoors. He was also Chairman of the Madison Chapter of Ducks Unlimited for many years, where under his leadership the chapter raised more than $1 million for conservation efforts. Chip later served as a Zone Chairman and was a Sponsor in Perpetuity. Through Ducks Unlimited, he formed many lifelong friendships that he treasured deeply.

Chip was an avid sportsman and fisherman who loved spending time in Northern Wisconsin, Canada, and the Bahamas. He especially enjoyed skeet shooting and proudly earned many gold medals at the Badger State Games. Some of his happiest moments were spent in a duck blind, at deer camp, or chasing pheasants alongside good friends.

And then there were his boats - Chip loved everything about boating and cherished the many memories made on the Madison lakes, and bigger boats need bigger water so new adventures and friendships began on the Wolf, Fox and Lake Winnebago system.  He also served as Commodore of the Four Lakes Yacht Club in 1987.

Those who knew Chip will remember him as kind, generous, funny, intelligent, and honest. He was the kind of friend everyone hoped to have and someone who never took his many blessings for granted.

Chip was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved daughter, Melisa Felland; and many dear aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Carol; his son, Christian (Kyoko); his cherished grandchildren, Logan and Sycamore; his sister, Candy Cattell (Spence); his nephew, Jason Prestigiacomo (Jenny); his great-niece and nephews, Abby, Jake and Cade Prestigiacomo; as well as loving cousins, their families and a wide circle of dear friends.

Chip’s family and friends will forever carry his memory in their hearts and remember the joy, laughter, friendship and generosity he brought into their lives.
