I am so sad but I also feel so honored to have known the smartest, kindest, compassionate man I have had the privilege of knowing.

Don was one of my very favorite and dearest clients—not because of his investment assets, but because of his patience and long‑term perspective in a world often driven by volatility and knee‑jerk reactions. A true gentleman and a scholar if ever there was one, he will be deeply missed. My sincere condolences to the Dietmeyer Family. Chuck Jaskowiak

I have had over 40 years of association with Don. He was a great colleague and a very good friend. I like to remember him from my last meeting with him. My wife, Neeta, and I had lunch with Don last summer. He had bought a new computer, and he had installed multiple operating systems (Windows, Lenix, ..) on it and he was able to switch from one OS to another and also make these systems share some of the data between them. He was writing a program to catalogue his photo library, consisting of 10s of thousands of photos taken on iPhones and other digital cameras. I always admire you Don and always will. Kewal Saluja

Dear Dietmeyer Family, Please accept our sincere sympathy on the passing of Don--a wonderful man and friend with many gifts which he shared with the world. Don and Carol were so welcoming to my husband, Chuck, and our family when Chuck joined the ECE faculty in 1966 and continuing through the years at various gatherings which we will always remember.
