LINDA H DALZELL
April 19, 1955 - March 04, 2017
Obituary
MADISON-Linda Helen Dalzell, 61, of Madison, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, March 4, 2017. Linda was born on April 19, 1955 in Champaign, Ill., the daughter of William Wayne and Helen Lucille (David) Dalzell. Linda was a very adventurous, spirited, loveable person with Downs Syndrome who navigated her way through this world on her own terms. With guidance and support from many people, she was able to experience what life had to offer-- bowling, swimming, traveling, and bingo and loving to do art work, especially pottery, beads and drawing. Most of all she loved having her independence and ability to choose what she liked and proceed enthusiastically. Her sense of humor was as infectious as her sense of indignation at being misunderstood. For the last 2-3 years she had been battling Alzheimer's dementia which led to her death. Linda is survived by brothers, David Wayne (Peggy) Dalzell and lrvin Boyd (Helen) Dalzell (Boyd recently passed away on March 12, 2017); sister, Phyllis Ann Dalzell; good friend, Julie Runyon; nieces, Rebecca (John) Zender and Lori (Rich) Wells; and nephews, Mark (Jackie) Dalzell, Scott (Ruthann) Dalzell, David (Maggie) OKeefe, and Christopher (Beth) Keefe. Linda was a great-aunt to Zachary, Emma Kate, Nathan and Luke Dalzell, lan and Connor Dalzell, Alex and Ben Keefe, and Maralee Jo and Connor Zender. She was preceded in death by her parents. A celebration of Linda's life will be held at COMMUNITY LIVING CONNECTIONS (CLC), 6515 Watts Rd., Suite 100, Madison, 53719, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017. Please bring stories and memories to share. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be gifted in Linda's name to CLC. Linda and her family could not have done this without help from wonderful staff at CLC, (past and present), MARC program, Dr. E. Trowbridge and staff especially, Kathy; and Sue Cyznic. Special thanks to Erin and staff at Dale Ave. and Agrace HospiceCare for their dedicated care the last days. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com

So very sad to hear of Linda's passing. Linda has brought many smiles my way, to numerous to count! She definitly knew what she liked in life and stuck to her guns. Her stubbornness was a treat no matter if you agreed or not, one still had to smile. Her love for her art was something to treasure as well as her favorite colors. I have been definitely lucky to have known Linda for years and to have grown together in this world of life. So many smiles and for that I thank you Linda as well as your family!
