Mariann Crose

MADISON - Mariann C. Crose, age 92, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on April 1, 1929, in Columbus, Wis., the daughter of Charles and Anna (Selje) Thomas. Mariann graduated from Columbus High School in 1947. She married Duane Crose on Nov. 3, 1951, in Columbus. Mariann worked as a receptionist for General Casualty Insurance Company, retiring in 1993. She was a former member of Bethel Lutheran Church. Mariann enjoyed playing cards with her friends, taking trips to the casino, and baking cookies. She was an excellent cook and was affectionately called "Little Lady" by her husband and family. Mariann is survived by her sons, Gregory (Pat Anderson) Crose and Thomas (Michele) Crose; daughters, Beth (Larry) Fleming and Amy Mitchell; son-in-law, Butch Dorn; six grandchildren, Cory Crose, Jesica (Scott) Zwettler, Chad (Sarah) Crose, Ryan (Steven Heller) Crose, Brandon Mitchell, and Jenna Mitchell; eight great-grandchildren, Chance Crose, Liam Crose, Olivia Crose, Everly Crose, Tenley Zwettler, Jackson Zwettler, Owen Crose-Heller and Soren Crose-Heller; and sisters, Virginia Adams, Avis (Gary Swan) Dalton and Sandra Sutton. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane; daughter, Diane Dorn; two brothers, Ronald Thomas and Edward Thomas; and sister, Jermaine Kleppe. A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare, American Cancer Society, or the charity of one’s choice in Mariann’s memory would be appreciated by the family.
