Jean Bongard

WINDSOR-Jean L. (Duffield) Bongard passed away on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, at home surrounded by her family. Jean was born on Aug.18, 1930, the daughter of Robert and Ester (Klahn) Duffield. She married Robert “Bob” Bongard on Sept. 16, 1950.  Jean enjoyed playing cards at VFW Post No. 7591 on Cottage Grove Road and was an avid Packers and Badgers fan.  She was a wonderful cook and loved to prepare big meals for her family during the holidays. Jean and Bob went boating every weekend for many years on Lake Wisconsin.  They also enjoyed traveling, some of their favorite trips were Alaska, Hawaii, Florida and Las Vegas. Jean worked as a bookkeeper for over 20 years at 3F Laundry, and then retired from UW Book Stores after 25 years.  Jean is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert; daughter, Cheri Masino; and grandson Michael (Jennifer) Masino; great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Cruz Masino; and other relatives and friends.  Funeral arrangements are pending at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017.  Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Wednesday.
