Chadwick, Helen Mae
Sun Prairie-Helen Mae Chadwick, age 96, of Sun Prairie, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at Prairie Gardens. She was born on Dec. 28, 1922, in Richland Center, WI., the daughter of Louis Duhr and Gladys Frye. Helen married Lyle Chadwick on June 10, 1941. She worked on the production line for Oscar Mayer, Inc. Helen was a socialite with a great sense of humor. She loved children and dogs and lit up anytime she interacted with either. Helen was a talented crafter, willing to try anything new and creative. She loved her family and dreamed of having lots of grand-children and great-grandchildren, which she got. Helen is survived by sons, Richard (June) Chadwick and Jeffrey Lynn Chadwick; daughter, Lisa (Robert) Schoenheidi; brother, Jerry Duhr; sister, June Holtz; sister-in-law, Dorothy Duhr; and 19 grand-children and many great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lyle Chadwick; two daughters, Lyla New and Roberta Fjelstad; son, Robert Chadwick; two sisters, Mary Sharp, and Florence (Carl) Berberich; brother-in-law, Bill Holt; four brothers, Hale Duhr , Keith Duhr, Kenneth Duhr and William (Lois) Duhr; and step mother, Madeline Duhr. Memorial Service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr, Madison, at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2019, with the Rev. Elisa Brandt presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Memorials may be made to Dane County Humane Society or Mit Liebe German Shepherd Rescue. Friday morning coffee and donuts faded fast after Helen moved on to Sun Prairie. We have since restarted the coffee and donuts but no one sits, shares and laughs together like we did with Helen. You have often been thought of and missed. I personally have had no one to "cut up with" like I had with you. You are missed here at Monona Hills. May your rest be peaceful and your family given peace and strength also. Ana Yap

Helen M. Chadwick You will Truly be missed. I am glad to have made your acquaintance and neighbor at Monona Hills. I will always remember the laughs we had with you, whether it was on the Monona bus, in the lobbies, in the dining hall or just sitting outside. Rest In Peace Now.

The first time I met Helen, sitting outside at Monona Hills, I knew she was someone I liked. We became good friends over time and found out we had a lot in common, like cooking (cook books), crafts, and Oscar Meyers. We had some good times, lots of laughs and a few Spotted Cows now and then. I feel so blessed to have called her my friend. Rest in Peace Helen, you will be missed by many.
