Obituary

MADISON / STOUGHTON - Helen Dorothea Bond passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024. She was born on Nov. 6, 1962, in Cardiff, Wales, to Jim and Eileen Bond where she lived until 1973.

Helen embarked on her next adventure to Teheran, Iran, with her parents as a result of her father’s posting while working for Ray-O-Vac. After enjoying five wonderful years in Iran, she moved with her parents to the United States and thus began Helen’s adventures in this country.  First, in King of Prussia, Pa., before arriving in Madison, Wis., in 1979. Further residences included Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Sylvania, Ohio.

After Helen’s father’s passing in 1990, Helen moved with her mother back to Madison, where she remained for the rest of her life. She was a graduate of Madison Memorial High School and held several jobs in the community through the years.

Helen enjoyed a wide range of activities during her life and derived particular pleasure from participating in Special Olympics activities such as swimming, track, bowling, bocce ball as well as many travels with Able Trek Tours.

She will be greatly missed by all who met her as she left a piece of her loving self in everyone’s heart.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Eileen Bond; and brother, Phillip Bond. She is survived by her brother, Gordon (Diana) Bond; nephew, Christopher (Linn) Bond; nieces, Lexi and Chelsea Bond; grandniece, Gwynnyth Bond; and grandnephew, Edwyn Bond.

A special thank you to Community Living Connections for their care and support of Helen through the years. A memorial service for Helen will be held at a later date.

I am so saddened to read of Helen's passing. I worked with the Midvale gang from March 2017-summer of 2019. I always loved hearing about Helen's accomplishments and what happened at work that day. She was so so sweet and such a good roommate to Sarah. May her memory be a blessing 🙌
