Obituary
MADISON-Lorraine L. Boden, age 87, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at Karmenta Care Center. She was born on Dec. 15, 1929, in Madison, the daughter of John and Louise (Zenger) von Allmen. Lorraine was fondly known as grandma to the neighborhood. She was a wonderful caretaker, and loved spending time with her family, especially hosting Christmas gatherings. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Lynnette L (Brandon) Kettle; two grandsons, Rick (Heather) Hanson, and Brian Hanson; great-grandson, Cameron Hanson; brother, Carl von Allmen; sister-in-law, Janice von Allmen; many nieces; nephews; and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Paul (Jeanne) von Allmen, Bob (Irene) von Allmen, Wally von Allmen; sister-in-law, Mary von Allmen; and longtime friend, Mike Fumuso. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017. A light lunch will take place during visitation. Private family internment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park at a later date. Special thanks to Brian for all the care and support given to Grandma, for making her his life. Mom, I strive to be half the woman you were, although I’ve been missing you for many years while Alzheimer’s was taking away your life. You’re at peace now, free from that hideous disease. Thanks for the memories! We love you, “We’ll never walk alone”.

Lynnette, Brandon & family: So sorry for your loss. Aunt Lorraine always had an open door, and a pot of hot coffee. I have many fond memories of Christmas Eves on Myrtle Street – such fun! She will be missed, but we are grateful her suffering is over, and she is whole again.

Dear Lynnette.........Your mother was a beautiful classy lady, as I recall back when I used to babysit you for her. You are correct, Alzheimer's disease is a 'thief', it destroys our loved ones before they've even left us. You are so very fortunate to have had her on this earth for all these years. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family! I hope you are doing well, my dear.

Dear Lynnette, I want you to know I'm thinking and praying for you as I remember our years together many years ago. I don't remember your Mom too much but I do remember eating at your home and her being at work. I remember you talking about her. Dear Lynnette, My memory of your mom is when you lived in that tiny little house on Troy and we would be hanging out and she would come home from work and sit in the living room with us for a while and laugh and talk... mostly laugh at us. Nasty Alzheimer's and Dimentia .. at least our mom's are happy and healthy in heaven now.
