VERONA / WAUNAKEE - Inga Lisa Beck, age 83, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Badger Prairie Health Care Center, Verona. She was born on June 23, 1941, to parents Henry and Ella (Voigts) Beck. Inga was the youngest of six children raised on the Beck Family Farm on River Road in the Town of Westport. She attended the one room Ella Wheeler Wilcox School. She was the class valedictorian for Waunakee High School graduation, Class of 1959. She graduated from UW-Madison in 1963 with a degree in Speech and Broadcasting. She was a member of Wisconsin Singers and was an actress in some plays.
After graduation, Inga moved to Milwaukee to start working in the field of advertising for a couple of years. She followed a dream and moved to San Francisco by herself to take a creative advertising job. She lived in an apartment with the view of the harbor and the Golden Gate Bridge and close to all the exciting entertainment in the large metropolitan area. When her mother became ill, Inga returned to Madison to be closer to home. In Madison she had jobs at Wisconsin Public Radio and as a political aide at the state capitol. She was an active volunteer in various political organizations. She attended services and joined social activities at Bethel Lutheran and Luther Memorial Churches.
Inga was proud of her German heritage and felt lucky that she was able to take a trip to Germany with her mother to visit her homeland and meet family relatives. She enjoyed watching the Badgers, Packers and Brewers.
As she aged, Inga developed chronic health problems which required 24-hour care and multiple services. Family and friends were thankful that she lived on the Pheasant Branch unit at Badger Prairie where she received kind and compassionate care in a family friendly setting where she felt very safe and special.
Inga is survived by her sister, Leah Seamans; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ella Beck; sister, Rita Matteson; and brothers, August, Herbert and Ray Beck.
