MADISON - M. Jane (Farrell) Baszynski, age 97, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026. She was born in Madison on September 1, 1929, the eldest daughter of Leslie and Rosella Farrell. She attended schools in Pine Bluff, Edgewood High School, St. Mary School of Nursing and St. Francis College in Joliet, Ill.
Jane practiced nursing for over 60 years in various fields. She married Donald Baszynski who preceded her in death in 1998. They were the parents of Dennis (Janice) Baszynski, Jeane Summermatter, and Brian Baszynski.
Jane was a volunteer for many years with the Red Cross and donated 18 gallons of blood. She was involved at St. Dennis Church teaching, serving on the Parish Council, as a Eucharistic Minister and serving with several committees.
Jane is survived by her children; six grandchildren, Deana, Kevin and Shawn Summermatter of Switzerland and Rachel, Levi and Luke Baszynski of New York; two great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Farrell; sister-in-law, Jenny Farrell; brother-in-law, Bill Rossiter; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her sisters, Madeline Matuszewski, Edwina Campnell, and Sharon Rossiter; brothers, Tim, JD and Gerry Farrell; and brothers-in-law, Howard Baszynski, Michael Baszynski, Garner Campnell, and Alan Matuszewski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at QUEEN OF APOSTLES PARISH, ST. DENNIS CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 11 a.m., followed by a luncheon at the church. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens.
