Obituary
MADISON - Ruth (Johnson) Barlow, age 85, passed away on Sept. 23, 2022. She was born Nov. 16, 1936, the daughter of Thomas and Ruth (Western) Johnson. She graduated from Madison East High School in 1954. She married Bob Barlow on Nov. 12, 1955, at Lake Edge United Church of Christ.
Ruth is survived by her children, Bob (Judy), Patty and Kathy; granddaughters, Sarah and Lauren (Dan White and son Gregory); sister, Jan Hamre; brother, Ken Johnson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Don (Marjean) Barlow, Ken Barlow, Shirley Guitzkow, Ruthann Foley and Joyce Hoel; and many special nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, on Dec. 22, 2008; her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George (Margaret) Barlow; brothers-in-law, Dick Hamre, Homer Libby, Chuck Guitzkow, Bob Foley and Rick Hoel; and sisters-in-law, Nan Johnson, Judy Barlow and Mary Ellen Libby.
A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Burial will follow at Blooming Grove Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the funeral home immediately following burial.
