Larry S. Adams

POYNETTE/MADISON- Larry S. Adams, age 74, left this life on Saturday, April 21, 2018, following a fierce battle with cancer. He lived his end of days on his own terms, playing cribbage, meeting with friends and family and doing just exactly the things he wished to do. Larry is survived by his  two daughters; Denise Atchinson, her daughters, Rachel and Carly, and Christa (Sam) Wollin, their sons, Jacob and Ryan; two step-sons, Jeff Revalee and Michael Revalee; stepmother Adelia (Toots) Lange; sisters, Bonnie Bunjaporte, Sheryll Smith, Jackie Harris, Patti Adams and Mary Adams; brothers Tom Adams and Ken Adams; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is further survived by his devoted wife, Sandy Adams. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Adams and Betty (Angus) Bunjaporte. Shortly after his 19th birthday, Larry enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1960. He served during the Cuban missile crisis in Guantanamo Bay and was honorably discharged in 1964. He pursued many different career paths in his life, concluding with establishing his own Marketing business in 1987.  Of all his life experiences, he often said that he was most proud of his time with the Marine Corps. He was also most grateful for his almost 28 years with the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous and his membership in the East Side Alano Club. A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr. Madison, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., on Thursday, May 3, 2018, with a time of remembrance beginning at 11:30 a.m. Burial with military honors will be held at Highland Memory Gardens, 3054 County Rd. BB Madison. Our sincere thanks to the many friends who supported the family through this last journey, and to all of the staff at the VA hospital in Madison who cared for Larry during his treatments, hospitalizations and final diagnosis. To our special guides, the Red Team of Agrace Hospice service, particularly Sara, Kristin and Stephanie, we thank you.
