Winnett C Alsmo

DEFOREST - Winnett C. Alsmo, age 86, of DeForest, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022, at Parkside Assisted Living. She was born on Aug. 12, 1936, in Daleyville, Wis., the daughter of Walter and Clarice (Lundene) Anderson. Winnett was united in marriage to Alden D. Alsmo on Nov. 5, 1955. He passed away on Nov. 21, 1981.

Winnett graduated from Mount Horeb High School. Prior to her retirement in 2003, Winnett enjoyed a career as a clerk for American Family Insurance for 29 years. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, baking, reading, sewing, crocheting, dancing and listening to music. She especially loved spending time with family and friends.

Winnett is survived by her children, LouAnn (James) Miller, Julie (David) Keip and Lowell Alsmo; grandchildren, Erica (Richard) Butler, Jennifer (Kevin) Julseth, Crystal (Gregg) O’Kroley and Jason (Amber) Keip; great-grandchildren, Quincy Miller, Nolan Julseth, Samara Chancy, Eliza Keip, Haley Julseth, Colton O’Kroley, Harper Julseth and Hendrix O’Kroley; special friend, Gordon Peterson; brother, Roger (Dawn) Anderson; sisters, Shirley Jean Davis and Marcia (Ted) Thompson; brothers-in-law, James Alsmo and William Martinson; and sisters-in-law, Amy Alsmo and Marlene Alsmo. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Myrtle; husband, Alden D. Alsmo; brother, Orville Anderson; and many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Lutheran church, 220 S. Main St., DeForest, at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
