Jackie Weber

MADISON- Jackie A. Weber, passed away peacefully on Feb. 2, 2024, at the age of 66. She was born on June 22, 1957, in Cuba City, the daughter of John and Berneice (Schildgen) Weber.

Jackie's zest for life was evident in her many interests and the joy she found in simple pleasures. She had an enduring love for music and could often be found listening to the bands on the Monona Terrace Rooftop, where her spirit and rhythm were infectious to all around her. Jackie's love for car rides was more than a pastime; it was an expression of her adventurous spirit and her appreciation for the world's beauty.

Her commitment to the community was exemplified through her work with the Mobility Training and Independent Living Program (MTILP), where she formed a special bond with Calli, one of the job coaches. Jackie's dedication to achieving independence and confidence was a reflection of her strength and resilience.

Jackie is survived by her sisters, Cheryl (Terry) Kramer, Cindy (Jason Snow) Bennett, Michele (David) Schultz and Tammy Weber. She was an aunt to her nephew, Nathanial (Abigail Chapman) West, and niece, Ashley (Adam) Trautman and their children, Aurora and Sebastian Trautman.  Jackie was preceded in death by her father, John Weber; mother, Berneice (Gene) Heller; brothers-in-law, Richard Bradley and Brian Bennett; and her nephew, Nicholas Bradley.

Jackie's love for her family was paralleled by her love for going on car rides and sharing meals with her roommates and caregivers She relished these moments of togetherness, often punctuated by her favorite treats-chocolate and coffee. These simple joys were the cornerstones of many cherished memories that her family will hold dear.  Her gentle demeanor and heartfelt smile were sources of comfort and happiness to everyone she encountered, especially her roommate, Chris.  Jackie's ability to touch lives was a gift that she gave freely and without expectation.

In honoring Jackie's life, we reflect on the words of Helen Keller: "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Jackie's love has indeed become a part of us, and for that, we are eternally grateful.

A private family service will be held at a later date.  Special thank you to Karen of REM Wisconsin who was Jackie’s primary caregiver and whom she had a special bond , as well as St. Croix Hospice for all the tender loving care they provided to Jackie.
