Remembering a lot of special times but specifically September 28, 2000 when Grandma and I hopped in my Honda Civic (not very grandma like) and headed down to Milwaukee for the last Brewers game ever played at County Stadium. We had to park up in the hills in a grassy area across from a cemetery about a mile from the stadium but that didn't faze Grandma in the least. After having our own tailgate party including a couple of Miller Lites we started the trek over to the stadium. As everyone knows Grandma loved the Brewers so what's a little hike if you can watch a good baseball game at the end of it? To be honest I don't even remember who won or lost but I do remember we stayed until the final out and then some which is not my usual M.O.. At the end of the game we stayed for another good hour while the Brewers introduced all of the past stars that had spent their playing days in Milwaukee including Hank Aaron, Robin Yount and many, many others. Grandma seemed like a kid in a candy store and loved every minute of it. Of course we still had to walk back to the car and make the long drive back home but the day was already more than worth it! Love you Grandma!
