I always loved coming to Wisconsin and visiting Auntie Arlene’s house. There was always graham crackers and milk, and people bustling in and out. My favorite memory, however, was the summer I was 8. Auntie would not let Nicole and I come over, and we couldn’t figure out why. She told us to stay at grandma’s until she gave the ok. We didn’t know if we were in trouble or what...until we got the go ahead! We ran over to auntie’s house, crashed through the front door, but nobody was there! Suddenly I looked out the back window and saw the most beautiful sight any 8 year old can imagine—she had transformed her backyard into a penny carnival! There were blankets strung up to hide her helpers (my cousins??) and stations of games to play for prizes. My favorite was the fishing game—I tossed the line over a blanket, and when I felt a tug, I reeled in my toy or candy prize. That day made my summer, and I can’t think of auntie now without that memory warming me.

Your Mom was one of the sweethearts of St. Luke's. I will remember her friendliness and that she always had a smile and a kind word whenever I saw her. She will definitely be missed and has earned her greatest reward in heaven. God rest her soul and God bless your family.
