Obituary

MIDDLETON-Marjorie Ellen “Pudge” (Parsons) Stafford was released from her earthly bonds on Monday, June 25, 2018, six weeks shy of her 91st birthday.  Her daughter, Deborah, sons, Daniel and Michael, and her two grandchildren, Jennifer Stafford Kahl and Grant Stafford were in attendance at her passing.  Survivors include daughter-in-law, Sherri (Daniel) Stafford, Jennifer’s husband Donald and Grant’s wife, Emily; plus five grandchildren, Layla, Jude, Dylan, Declan and Scarlett, with another grandchild due in September.  Marjorie was predeceased by the love of her life, husband of 40 years, Richard G. Stafford; parents, Clare A. Parsons and Ella (Reese) Parsons; brother, William Parsons; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Heilman) Parsons and Susan (LaCourt) Stafford.  Marjorie joins her dearest friend, daily confidant and companion in numerous adventures, Anne (Rusch) Alcumbrac of Ariz.  Marjorie was a proud and generous daughter of Eire, prolific baker of Christmas treats, playing golf into her 80’s and bridge into her 90’s, with her friends and Blackhawk Country Club companions.  She loved spending time swimming in the great Northwoods’ Manitowish Waters chain of lakes, and cheering for Jenny and Grant in their multitude of sporting events.  As associate editor of The State of Wisconsin’s Medical Journal, she distinguished herself through service and pride in their finished product.  Marjorie Stafford’s love, support, strength and companionship will be greatly missed, but will live on in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  The family wishes to thank the staff at Brookdale Claire Bridge for the care and respect given by the staff during her too short stay, and the staff of Agrace HospiceCare for the services provided during her final journey. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by a short service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
