MIDDLETON/ELLSWORTH-Doris V. Scheide, age 93, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg.  She was born on August 2, 1923, in Ellsworth, Wis., the daughter of Frederick and Josephine (Waldvogel) Stockwell.  Doris attended one room rural school for eight years and graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1941. She was married to Lloyd B. Scheide for 25 years.  Doris graduated from St. John's Hospital School of Nursing of Red Wing, Minn. in 1943. She continued her education at the University of Wisconsin receiving certificates in public health nursing and gerontology. Her nursing career included working for physicians, nursing homes, private duty and the last 15 years as a nursing consultant for the state of Wisconsin.  Doris believed in lifelong learning and loved to play games of all kinds especially bridge. She was an avid reader of biographies and mysteries. Survivors include her children, Lloyd "Pete" (Jenny) Scheide of Stevens Point, Patricia (Ron) Anderson of Cable, Ann (Mike) Collins of Madison, John Scheide of Middleton and Jim (Mary) Scheide of River Falls and a brother, Milton (Skip) Stockwell of Ellsworth. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cable National History Museum in Cable, WI., Wisconsin Public Television or to Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom. I did her hair for many years before my retirement last Feb.. I looked forward to her visits. She was a fun, happy person. Always with a smile on her face. She was easy to talk to and truly loved her family. And never looked or acted her age. She was very inspirational! Gerry Meicher
