Obituary
Mabel L. "Micky" Passini, age 97, of Middleton, joined her husband and family in heaven on Friday, June 23, 2017. She was born on Feb. 6, 1920, in Lake Villa, Ill., the daughter of Hugh and Elizabeth (Plotz) McCann. Micky led her life here on earth with an amazing spirit and strength that could be seen through her Irish eyes. Her quiet dedication and devotion to all she did could be witnessed through her 38 years of work at Gimbels/Marshall Fields, her unmatched cooking and baking, the Irish and Italian traditions she carried on with her family, and her close following of her family’s sports and activities. Micky met the love of her life, Satimo “Pat” Passini, at a dance and married him on Oct. 11, 1941. They continued to dance their way through life until Satimo’s passing on June 17, 2000. Micky is survived by her children and their families, Patrick (Marilyn) Passini (Mitch and Mona), James (Lyn) Passini (Todd), Michael (Myleen) Passini (Emi, Mika, Kenji, Lia), Timothy (Sara) Passini (Maya), Kathleen (John) Simon (Kyle, Kayla, Kodey); 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Joe, Earl and Howard McCann. A Memorial Mass will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave., Middleton, at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, June 30, 2017, with Father Brian Wilk presiding. Burial at Middleton Junction Cemetery will be private. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at CROSS PLAINS LEGION HALL POST NO. 245, 2217 American Legion Dr., Cross Plains. My condolences to the Passini family in the loss of your dear mother. She was a beautiful, sweet lady who was always nice to all of us neighborhood kids. I remember being greeted with a smile and a kind word whenever I saw her working at Gimbels. So enjoyed visiting with her and my mom at Middleton Glen during the last four years. I know how much she will miss your mom.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Passini family. I had the chance to get to know Micky here at Middleton Glen, and I'm so glad I did. Micky was such a fun and lively woman, and I loved her spirit and sense of humor. I would always look forward to seeing her around the community (especially at BINGO!) and talking with her for a little bit. She was a very special woman who will very much be missed.
