MADISON – James H. “Jim” Kalscheur, age 91, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2020. He was born on Jan. 14, 1929, in Pine Bluff, the son of Lawrence and Marie (Scholl) Kalscheur. Jim graduated from Mount Horeb High School. He was united in marriage to Joyce Riemer on Nov. 9, 1957.
Jim invested years of hard work into his business, UW Provisions. Over the years his customers became long-lasting friends. Jim was a strong supporter of Badgers Athletics. He truly enjoyed attending the games and cheering on the Badgers. Jim also formed many friendships within the Packer organization, and attended the first and second Super Bowls. At every tailgate party, they all loved Jimmy’s steak sandwiches!
Jim is survived by his wife, Joyce; sons, Steve (Kathy) Kalscheur and Scott (Jaki) Kalscheur; daughter, Amy Kalscheur; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sisters, Sister Eileen Kalscheur, Rosie (Bob) Farrell, Lois O’Connell (Ken Johnson). He was preceded in death by his parents; Lawrence and Marie, sister Louan (Don) Reisdorf, and infant daughter, Mary.

He was a caring, giving man. He went to Mt Horeb, I believe, with our brother, Ken Cook.
At a celebration for our brother, he presented him with a wonderful gift ;of steaks. He was

Our deepest sympathies goes out to Aunt Joyce, Steve (Kathy), Scott (Jackie), Amy (Mark) and their families. Words alone can not express our broken hearts as we grieve with you. Uncle Jim was such a genuine person and loved to talk to anyone. So many lives have been blessed with his generosity over the years. He just loved seeing people enjoying life. So many wonderful memories growing up at the pool at Uncle Jim and Aunt Joyce's house and the Annual Kalscheur Christmas party at the barn. He loved watching family enjoying time together.
