To the Hewitt Family:
My sympathy to your family. I met Elizabeth through Mike. He was my supervisor for many years at WP&L. I mentioned to him one year that I was going to a Deppe Family Reunion in Waterloo WI. That is where I grew up and attended the reunion for about 30 to 40 years. Mike asked how I was related to he Deppe's. I said my Grandmother was a Deppe (Aden (Deppe) Fentzlaff. Her parents are Louis Deppe and Louisa (Yanke.) Louis is one of 9 siblings. Mike said I think we're related. My wife 's family is related to the Deppe's. (Small world !!) Louis's youngest brother, Theodore and Emma (Robinson) are the parents to Ruth and Robert McArthur.
I didn't know your mother that well, but I did know your father through work and really liked him. I missed his obituary and send belated condolences. May they both rest in peace as they are reunited in God's grace care.

My sympathy on the loss of such a dear lady. I came to work in the office at Middleton Library while Liz was in charge of the circulation department. She ruled with an iron hand in a velvet glove, or was it the other way around? She expected the best anyone had to give, but she was very understanding of the issues the employees, and I think especially her students, faced in life. I can recall Liz lining up her students with book carts, two or three, to go to a nearby building to "facilitate" the return of long overdue books. She really cared that the library always be the best IT could be, understanding of issues but not giving up on items that should be available in the library. I recall many conversations with her through the years we were working at Middleton library. I always enjoyed her stories of travel and people.
