Obituary
MIDDLETON - Tom Beyer unexpectedly passed away over the Memorial Day weekend on Monday, May 25, 2020, at the age of 71. Tom was born on Oct. 28, 1948, to Robert and Arlene Beyer of Waterloo, Wis. Tom was a graduate of Lakeside Lutheran High School. Tom worked for and retired from the Wisconsin Department of Revenue after 37 years and retired from the Wisconsin Army National Guard after serving for 23 years. He enjoyed golf, socializing with his many friends, and was an avid Badgers fan.
Tom is survived by his two sons, Brian and Brad Beyer; his father, Robert Beyer; his brother, Mike (Traci) Beyer; his sister Kathi (Doug) Strohbusch; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Arlene; and his brother, Randy.
Due to the current global health crisis, Tom's visitation and burial will be private family events. Tom's visitation will be able to be viewed virtually from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, 2020. A memorial service will be held for Tom at the VILLAGE GREEN in Middleton the afternoon of Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020, which will be open to the public for all of his family and friends to attend and exchange their memories and stories of Tom.

I have nothing but happy memories of Tom. He was always positive and outgoing at work. My favorite memory was of him organizing a farewell party when we moved from Building L to Rimrock Road—it was a cookout/Halloween party with beautiful weather on Halloween Day. I do not recall what he dressed up as but it was a fun light hearted day. Tom, you made the world a better place, say hi to Carol and Rest In Peace.

Our hearts are with you Brian and Brad. We knew your dad for many years through the National Guard. He was our special man here on the home front during the Gulf War. He did our taxes for many years, as well as many other guard members. He had a pretty good gig with that part time job! He got paid well, and always enjoyed one another’s company over a great home cooked meal. Your dad will be missed and thought of often, especially by his fellow guard members and their families. I first met Tom in the mid-70's when I joined The Guard. He was a good friend through the years and he helped me when I needed it. I am deeply saddened by his passing.

Brian, Brad and Family,
We're so sorry to hear the passing of Tom. I met Tom while assisting in recruiting medical professionals into the 13th EVAC Hospital Unit, Madison.
Tom was always willing to assist in any endeavor and did it professionally. His personality and excellent gift of planning met everyone's expectations and more.
He certainly will be missed. Totally enjoyed him as a friend and fellow Guardsman.
