Annen, Andrew N.
MADISON - Andrew N. “Andy” Annen, age 92, of Madison, passed away on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, at Sebring Assisted Living Facility surrounded by his family. He was born on May 2, 1928, in Springfield, Wis., the son of Matthew and Christine (Faust) Annen. Andy was a graduate of Middleton High School in 1946.
Andy married Florence M. Frisch on Oct. 11, 1949, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Middleton. Their reception was on the Frisch family farm and they had a dance at Simons Dance Hall in Springfield Corners. Andy was a family man. Andy first worked for Koltes Lumber Company in Waunakee for 17 years. From there he worked for the Dane County Highway Department until his retirement in 1989. In his free time he was an avid Packers and Badgers fan, but especially loved the Brewers. He looked forward to fishing and hunting trips and enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre with family and friends. He was a regular at the Ho Chunk Casino.
Andy is survived by his wife of 71 years, Florence; children, Richard (Susan) Annen, Linda Annen, Dennis (Joan) Annen, and Janice (Thomas) Brady; three grandchildren, Meredith (John Ziino) Annen, Consetta (Bryan) Johnson and Benjamin (Christine) Annen; and five great-grandchildren, Kaylee Annen-Ziino, Alainah and Kellan Johnson, Laura and Bailey Annen. He was preceded in death by his parents; and seven sisters and a brother.
A private funeral Mass will be held. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery in the Mausoleum.
