Obituary
Madison—Donald A. Anderson, age 89, of Madison went to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 17, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. He was born on Dec. 22, 1926 in Hawarden, IA. He was the son of Albert and Dora (Christensen) Anderson. He married Mary Ellen Carlson on Nov. 4, 2000 in Monona, WI. Don was a very proud Navy Veteran, serving in World War II. He also was an avid sports fan, always cheering on the Badgers, Packers and Brewers.
Survivors include his wife Mary Ellen; sons Steven (Connie), Robert (Susan); a daughter Kathleen (Don) Helt; stepchildren David (Laura von Kaas) Carlson, Linda Krengel, Debbie (Gary) Brown, Barb (Greg) Woods; grandchildren Tara (Jeremy) Hegge, Ashlee, Joshua, Rebecca, Becky, and Jenny; great granddaughters, Addyson and Mazie Hegge, Isla Bryant, plus many more grandchildren and great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Barb Reuter and Carol Anderson; brother-in-law Erling Skrinde and many other nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his first wife Sally Conlin in 1994; parents; brothers and sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at BLESSED SACRAMENT CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2121 Rowley Ave., Madison, WI at 11:00 AM on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016. Visitation will be on Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton from 4 to 7 PM and also at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Sat. at 10:00 AM until time of service.
