Obituary
POYNETTE - Linda Lee Stoltenberg, age 81, of Poynette, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025. She was born on April 2, 1944, in Marshfield, Wis., the daughter of Bertram and Milda (Huber) Becker.
Linda graduated from Marshfield High School and went on to earn an associate degree from the University of Wisconsin. She later worked as a secretary in German American Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She married Wendell Stoltenberg, the love of her life, on September 20, 1969, in Marshfield, Wis.
Linda and Wendell were soulmates and spent 46 wonderful years together until Wendell’s passing on July 7, 2016. They stood together, side by side, as partners every day in every sense of the word. Linda was a loving mother to her daughter, Becky, and a loving grandmother to her greatest joys, Sophia and Anthony. Together, they were her whole world, and nothing brought her grater happiness.
Linda loved to play cards and board games with family and friends. She was a huge Wisconsin Badger fan. She enjoyed watching her daughter, Becky, play sports at Lodi High School and college in Arkansas. She loved to go boating and spend time on Lake Wisconsin. Linda enjoyed traveling with her family to Mexico and the Caribbean, with Punta Cana being one of her most favorite places. Linda was a devout member of Dekorra Lutheran Church. She was known for her love of sweets and her faithfulness, thoughtfulness and patience with others.
Linda will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, friend and grandparent.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Becky Ring; grandchildren, Sophia and Anthony Ring; and sisters, Charolette (Al) Williamson and Barbara (Brian) Gilboy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Stoltenberg; and her parents, Milda and Bertram.
A visitation will be held at DEKORRA LUTHERAN CHURCH, N3099 Smith Road, Poynette, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday, September 6, 2025. A memorial service will be held at the church at 12 noon on Saturday. A luncheon at the church will follow. Burial will be held at Dekorra Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
