Obituary

LODI- Michael D. Sharpee passed away on Feb. 27, 2018, due to a car accident. He was a friend to all that met him and enjoyed making people laugh. Michael was small in stature but large in determination.  In 2011, he was diagnosed with throat cancer. Although the cancer took his voice box, he continued to use his gift of gab in other ways.  Michael will be fondly remembered by many. He was an active member in the Lodi Methodist Church and could easily remember names of everyone he met.  Michael is survived by his wife, Debbie; mother, Joyce Steckel; mother-in-law, Ruth Krueger; brothers, Danny (Judy) Chrisler and Kim Chrisler; sisters, Betsy (Jim) Fleury, Cindy (Mike) Fobes, Jane (Dan) Pechauer and Marcia Shimniok; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, Don Sharpee; and step-son, Jefery Kendall.  Celebration of Life will be held at LODI UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 130 Locust St., Lodi at 11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 with Reverend Marjorie Rice Myers presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.   Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. Debbie, I am sorry for your loss. I just saw you two weeks ago getting coffee at Kwik Trip (those darn boxes!) Whether at TOPS or around town, chatting with you & Ruth is always pleasant--and how you spoke of Michael, so endearing. I've not had the pleasure of meeting him, but no doubt, he was loved. Hugs to you & your family. Linda Triggs, Lodi

Mike was my uncle and he will be missed. Thank you for working with me at my first job when I was 14. You taught me a lot about working hard but also working in a bit of fun too. Everytime I would see you you always asked how I was and what was going on in my life. You have been through so much in life and I don't know how you got through it all. I'm glad you can finally rest and be at peace with never feeling anymore pain or hurt again. We love and miss you!

My condolences to Debbie and the family. Always enjoyed seeing Mike when I’d be home to church in Lodi, and “round and about” when I’d be in town with my folks through the years. Always a positive spirit and friendly. Rest In Peace.
